Dimensions in millimetres, materials that behave

Everything structural in PacFully is measured in millimetres, and every material maps to a physically-based rendering setup — roughness, metalness, clearcoat, and transmission — so the preview reads like the substrate it simulates.

Width, height, depth

The dimensions section of the properties panel takes width, height, and depth in millimetres with decimal precision — 230.5 is a valid width. Edits regenerate the 3D mesh and the dieline together, immediately. On round containers (the Boston round bottle, jar, beverage can, and cosmetic tube) width and depth set the diameter; height is the body height.

Projects saved through the API accept any dimension above 0 and up to 10,000 mm. The defaults you see when opening a template come from the catalog definition of that template — the mailer box starts at 230 × 160 × 70 mm, the RSC at 300 × 220 × 180 mm, and so on.

Board thickness: 0.2–1 mm

Box templates expose a thickness slider in the structure section, from 0.2 to 1 millimetre. Thickness feeds both generators: panels in the 3D scene are thin boxes with real walls, and the dieline geometry accounts for it. It does not change the outer dimensions you typed — those always describe the package you designed.

Materials and what they map to

Picking a material swaps the physically-based material on every panel of the model. Each one is a tuned combination of base color, roughness, metalness, clearcoat, transmission, and index of refraction:

Finishes

A finish remaps the roughness, metalness, and clearcoat of the current material rather than replacing it — gloss on kraft is still kraft underneath, and metal stays metal under every finish:

What each template supports

Materials and finishes are constrained per template so the preview stays plausible — an RSC shipping box does not come in foil, and a beverage can is always aluminum. The last column marks templates that generate a dieline:

Lighting and backgrounds

Four lighting presets — Studio, Softbox, Dramatic, Outdoor — change the environment the material reacts to, which matters most for glass and aluminum. A contact-shadow toggle grounds the model on the floor. Backgrounds are independent of lighting: pick a solid color (white or ink), a named studio backdrop (Mist, Cool studio, Daylight, Warm studio), or supply your own image for lifestyle-style shots.

Renders are previews, not press proofs

The renderer is calibrated for believable previews on screen. Monitor color, printer gamut, and substrate all shift the final result — treat exported renders as presentation-grade mockups, and confirm color-critical work with a physical proof.
